Clutch control
The pedal operated by the left foot.

Good clutch control leads to a smooth, comfortable and efficient drive. You and your passengers feel like you are in charge of the car - you're BOSSING it, you're CONTROLLING it, and you're MAKING it do exactly what you want it to do.
Good clutch control builds up your confidence, and you really feel good about your driving.
The car likes it, too. The components work much better, and last much longer, when your clutch control is good.

Being able to use the clutch smoothly is essential....we practice this until it becomes a natural part of your driving style.

This very basic diagram shows the main positions the clutch should be in:

Clutch DOWN
Clutch AT BITING POINT - about half way up
Clutch UP

The clutch is explained in a little more detail on your first lesson, just so you know what is happening when you're using your left foot.
Covered on the first lesson - clutch control.
