You, too can be the proud owner of a Full Licence......but first:

Before you get behind the wheel there are a few things you should be aware of.

Documents:

You must hold a Provisional Licence. You can apply for one up to two months before your 17th birthday. P eople with certain disabilities can drive from the age of 16.

You can also get an application form from a Post Office, or from the DVLA.

You must not drive on public roads until your are in possession of your licence.

Click on the link for more information on Driving Licences in the UK.

Insurance:

Any car you drive must be properly insured.

Vehicle:

Any car you drive must have all necessary paperwork - a valid tax disc, an MOT certificate if required, and a Vehicle Registration Document.

The vehicle must display red L-plates, visible from the front and the back, whilst being driven by a learner.

Eyesight:

You must be able to read an old-style number plate from 20.5 metres, or a new-style plate from 20 metres. If you need contact lenses or glasses to do this, that's OK, but you must wear them while driving.

Supervisor:

You must be accompanied by a qualified driver - someone who is at least 21 years of age, and has held a Full Driving Licence for at least 3 years.

 Driving Instructor:

The best way to learn is to find a fully-qualified Approved Driving Instructor, also known as an ADI.

Professional tuition with private practice is the ideal combination for getting the most out of your driving.

Good Luck!!
